Cheryl Sumners – President
With more than 25 years in sales and playground building experience, Cheryl Sumner established Play By Design a reputable company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has overseen projects budgeted from several thousands to multi-million dollars with highest quality and successfully completed in timely fashion.
Julie Heil
Julie has been in the construction industry for 8 years now – representing manufacturers providing commercial building products, to include commercial roofing as well as wall and roofing insulation. As exciting as that sounds, (wink wink) when Cheryl offered her an opportunity to help design outdoor playscapes, she saw this as a great opportunity to add more than just function to her product offerings. “Typically building owner don’t say, “hey – I wonder what my roof looks like today!” But seeing children and adults enjoy their time on a playground together – this is very rewarding!” She loves to help problem solve, whether it is a limited space or budget. The options or endless!
Kara Shilling
Kara Shilling graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors in Science in Construction Management Technology. Kara has over 24 years experience in the construction industry and brought extensive her knowledge in Project Management, supervision and Sales to Play By Design.
Tian Crawford
For the past two years, Tian has enjoyed serving as an outdoor design consultant and project manager. She values what the outdoor environment has to offer as individuals and how it brings people together in community. Prior joining Play By Design, Tian was an Educator and Counselor after graduating from Texas Tech University.
Melissa Wayt
Melissa Wayt, a University of Oklahoma Alumni with a degree in Journalist & Advertising. She has more than 2 years of expertise on hand. She enjoys working with clients as well as love to spend quality times with her little man “Sam”.
Mysti Sturges
Mysti is a playground enthusiast, and always excited to help bring a fun learning environment to others! She has 14 years experience in teaching and several years in real estate, people and projects. She loves to bring the fun while maintaining clients goals and needs. Her Matra? “When people enjoy their surroundings, it opens up hearts, minds, and improves community. READY! SET! PLAY!”
